"How to make an Arepa con Hogao"
I've had the pleasure to start this "Aventura" with the first person I met in Vancouver, the first week I moved here, Elvia Pinilla, Colombiana, beautiful, powerful women, mum and Comedian.

During my travels to Colombia, I fell in love with the country, people, food, art, music, authenticity, and humor. One dish I tried and loved was Arepa con Hogao, especially for breakfast in Bogota. Now, I'm excited to share the recipe with you.
Ingredients for the Hogao (tomato sauce)
- 5 green onions
- 1 white onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4 chopped tomatoes
- Salt
- Cumin
- Achiote for the color
For the Arepa (tortilla)
- Corn flour dough
- Hot water
- Butter
- Salt
Topping
- Quezo costeño ( cheese) or Halloumi feta cheese
