"Here we go! One of my favorite topics!
Of course will depend of your skin type and your needs at the moment ( very important ), some of this ingredients can be a bit agressive if you have conditions like sensitive, reactive or blemish skin. Don't hesitate to book a Skin consultation to have a look at witch one is better for you and how to add them into your new skin routine habits.
"Personally, without delving deeply into the scientific aspects of skincare, if you ask me which ingredient is best for anti-aging, my answer will always be the same "JOY "
Retinoids (Retinol, Retin-A): Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives known for stimulating collagen production, reducing wrinkles, and promoting skin renewal. They also help fade age spots and improve skin texture.
Personally, I would prefer the vegan option such as Bachuchiol, an alternative to retinol, which is less aggressive and equally effective without traumatizing your epidermis.
Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic acid is a powerful hydrating ingredient that can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. It plumps the skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and enhances skin elasticity.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that brightens the skin, evens out skin tone, and boosts collagen production. It protects the skin from environmental damage and reduces the signs of aging.
The Vitamin C in product is not stable, most of the Vit C will get oxidate in cream, serum, and cream.Only good laboratary will use science to maintain pure Vitamin C. To be stable it can't be in a water base solutions.
Have a look at this Cleanser with 10% of Vit C, super powerful, very stable because it doesn't get oxygen and "Anhydrous" that refers to a substance that contains no water or is completely devoid of water. It is often used to describe chemicals or compounds that are free from water molecules.
-Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs): AHAs like Glycolic acid and lactic acid exfoliate the skin's surface, promoting cell turnover. They improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and enhance skin radiance.
-Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs): BHAs like Salicylic acid penetrate oil glands, making them excellent for oily and acne-prone skin. They exfoliate inside the pore lining, preventing clogged pores, reducing blemishes, and improving skin tone and texture.
I have 2 amazing products i want to speak about with these ingredients but I prefer to do a full Article, stay tuned.
Peptides: Amino acid compounds that support collagen production and help in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
The most effective method for incorporating peptides is from the inside out. Personally, eight months ago, I made a dedicated commitment to consistently include them in my regimen, and the results have been remarkable. I used to struggle with uneven skin tone, but the clarity of my skin now is astounding. Take a look at these Collagen peptides, which have already received numerous awards for their exceptional quality.
"I didn't include Sunscreen (Broad-Spectrum SPF) in this discussion (although I plan to go into this topic further) because, personally, I believe sunlight is one of the most potent natural elements for our health. But, I'll save that discussion for another time."
Don't get confused, when I talk about sun exposure, I always mean early in the morning and late in the afternoon. However, I do use sunscreen if I know I'll be exposed for a long period of time, and I also use a face shield.
Nevertheless a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals supports overall skin health. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Good nutrition and hydration complement your external skincare efforts for a comprehensive anti-aging approach.
